2nd Try

Young Bald Eagle

Edit in Aperture

Thanks to some great feedback I spent a little time with this in CS3 Beta. Looks like there are going to be some neat new features. I used a blue filter under the photo filters menu. I tried the new exposure layer but ended up preferring the old levels/curves combo for this one. Finished by flattening and trying out the new smart filters with a smart sharpen.

Enjoy,

I decided to give Aperture another shot and see if I could get something close to CS3. I have to say I like the Aperture edit better as it seems to have given me a better jpeg. All the jpeg settings are the same for both apps but the crop is a little different. The two RAW files view very much the same on my screen. In Aperture I bumped the exposure .5; added a little saturation and brightness (which a usually do not use); used the selective color tool to pump the blue back in the sky; lastly, I sharpened and output to jpeg. After messing for a few hours now I think I could have gotten the same results using Camera Raw as I never ended up needing a mask in PS. Anyway, always fun to play for a few hours.
