Bald Eagles
I was hard pressed to get off my butt this morning and shoot, but it was worth it. I counted 25 eagles without turning my head! The cold has continued and the rivers are freezing tight, so it has really brought the birds in. The Honkers kept coming in as well. The forecast is for warmer weather, so I'll be out the next few days shooting the eagles as much as I can. I don't care what type of day I am having, seeing them soar over the river makes me smile.

So, where do you live?
Hey Randy,
Sorry about that - A small town named Rock Falls in the state of Obama..err..I mean Illinois. We are about 30 miles from the Mississippi River, so when things start getting crowded there they come up the Rock River. We happen to have a few dams that keep the water open during prolonged freezing weather. Next year I will go check out the Mississippi as they have hundreds of birds that hang out there. The confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi is said to be the best but have not been there yet. Also told that just north of St Louis is pretty good. I have been too busy with other projects to travel much, so...next year. Anywho, I'll post an image with the old Steel Mill in the background, so you can see what a Midwestern town looks like after globalization. The rivers were used for power and transport so they are lined with factories. Most of them are in financial trouble, so I would imagine in the next twenty years they will be redeveloped (or at least that's what most people hope). How's that for a long answer to a short question?
