canon 1.8 85mm UltraSonic

Shot my first wedding with it last week.

I would highly recomend this lens for the following reasons.

1) Price - resting around $350 for the lens and hood, it's a steal.

2) Glass...it's beautiful. Very high quality. You can tell even by looking at the coatings.

3) It's UltraSonic....so it's very quiet.

4) The bokeh is very very beautiful.

5) 1.8

6) pretty sharp at 1.8, very sharp at 2.8 and on.

7) the digital ratio turns it into a 135...perfect for portraits.

The autofocus does take a little while to get used to (i don't shoot AF, so it's quiet a lerning process). The lens is very hard to manual focus, since the plane of focus is so minimal at 1.8. The autofocus works very well, except in low light, which i anticipated.

Not sure what body you are using, but it will also be a factor regarding AF in low light.
