Complimentary
Took this at the very end of February, so hope that counts! :) In March, all I have shot so far has been baseball, baseball, baseball!!!
(And I guess then it is only fitting that I submit it at the very end of March... ha!)
I know flowers are cliche, but I still like trying to find new angles on an old idea. The strong red-green, complimentary colors relationship struck me with this one.

WOW! Blow it up and hang it on the wall! What's not to like. Really a fresh look at the floral world. Makes me feel bad for the cliche shot I put up.
Nice work Erin.
Gosh, thanks Coby... your praise makes me realize I am my own worst critic. I hope you don't think my comment about flowers being cliche was any comment on the image you submitted... it was more a reflection of my own feelings that I need to stretch more creatively. I just feel a little photographically frustrated these days... I am doing the shooting that pays the bills but unfortunately doesn't nurture the soul, you know? I just haven't had the time to experiment and grow, so I feel I keep going back to my same old comfort zone.
But maybe things are looking up! I think this weekend I am going to be photographing a local band who are friends of my brother... Should be a new challenge. And I think I have also agreed to shoot my first wedding... yikes! But it is probably a good one to get my feet wet on... it is a second marriage for an older couple, so it should be low pressure (unlike some 20-something's uber-wedding).
Thanks for the shot of encouragement! :)
No problem, and that was no bs either. I like the clean lines, color, composition, and the selective focus. It all adds up for me.
Good luck with your first wedding!
CThis is pretty spectacular Erin. You have to see it enlarged to really appreciate it, but it's expertly done. Thanks for sharing!
Gosh, thanks you guys! I am a little overwhelmed at the response... Maybe I should print this one for the print swap!
