I think that the vertical crop helps in creating a sense of how vast the grand canyon is, it works well. I don't think I would have seen the person without you pointing it out - at least not at this size...
I really like it as a vertical panorama - it has nice lines, horizontal in the background, vertical in the foreground. I would not have noticed the person if you hadn't mentioned it. That that makes it even more of a grandscale photo.
This is really excellent too. Have you thought about warming it up a bit?
For all the photos we've seen of the Grand Canyon, it's very hard to come up with something that's interesting photographically, and I think you've done it :)
Thanks Donn. This another of my very aggressive crops. I'd have to look, but this may have even been a horizontal. I spent about an hour at this spot messing with all kinds of comps. I agree with warming it but have not had the chance.
