My theme for July - Action
Several reasons for this theme this month... but in any case this is a young Northern Pacific Rattlesnake that we saw at a rest stop on a drive through northern California. Just stretching our legs, looking down at a creek, and there he was so I went back for my camera. He was motionless and elevated in the branches (which I've never seen before). So my wife shook the branch a little so he would give us some tongue. Later I told her how far they can jump, and I don't think she'll do that again, but we were probably far enough away :)
