Need Advice about RMSP

Hi Everyone
I am actually NOT an SI alumni, but a POTENTIAL student. I am considering the Summer Intensive course at the RMSP and would appreciate some feedback - good or bad - from some of you who have been through it. I would love to hear of your experiences there, what you thought of the course, your life afterwards (i.e. successes in starting your own businesses).
Any words of advice you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jules

A similar question was posted a few months ago... http://www.sialumni.com/p/rmsp-feedback

Start there and see if that addresses some of your questions. Perhaps some more recent grads can also chime in, since I am 5.5 years out now?

i finished the 06 SI/DI session. i learned more than i will ever need to know in photography. enough to start a business and go beyond. that takes initiative though. rmsp gives you the tools to build your business, you just have to go out and do it. anyone of the people that i graduated with has the skill to make a successful business. rmsp was a time in my life that is unforgettable. the people, the town, the school, everything that surrounds it is amazing. if they would let me i would go back and do it again. i highly suggest that you devote yourself to going this summer. i know that they changed program last year, and got rid of the si/di combo. apparently the time in the darkroom has been better applied elsewhere. it is unfortunate to take away the basic foundations of photography. the program may be better now, i couldn't tell you though. i was very unsure about it as well. then i took a trip to missoula to check it out. it was an absolute waste of driving 24 hours. the second that i stepped foot in that town i was sold. do yourself a favor, and just go. you won't regret it, i promise.

Any more help needed

G'day Jules

Do please read the comments that were posted previoulsy.

I personaly do not regret a second of my time there. I am currently working in Hong Kong and have had cause a number f times recently to call on the collective genious of the people on this site as they are far smarter than me, and that help has been offered willingly. That is something very unique to the comunity of RMSP. I have only know a very few people in the rest of the world that are as open and willing to share as those you will find here. If you do have any more questions or want to ask specific questions please feel free to contact me directly chippychu@hotmail.com.

Best of luck.
chippy
