the colors of the leaves and white trunks are beautiful...the dark cabin gets a little lost in that - improved when I enlarged it- probably works better if seen really big ? I like the long panorama without sky- feels lonely.
I have gotten some great feedback, so I think I will play a little with bringing the cabin out and getting it on paper. I guess that means I have to break down and finish calibrating everything.
If you are meticulous you could use curves and lighten up the cabin only. That would definitely help. There will be limits to how much gain you'll get (I think) because some of those shadows against it are nearly black. But it would help. The colors are awesome. I would work on it more before making your first print.
tweaked the template a bit - changed the page and file template so it supports our uses a bit better. Still tough to compare files the way it is. Need a lightbox feature for that....
Even without the lightbox you can see it nicely. I just click on "full image", first the old way, then the new, then back, and it's almost like having photoshop in front of me, turning the layer mask on and off. The image is smaller, but otherwise it still works quite well.
I think this is a very big improvement, and _certainly_ worth printing :)

thanks D,
Yeah, it got a bit dark when I output to jpeg. It does look better bigger, but I am not sure good enough to kill a tree on a big print.

Curve to adjust shadows with a layer mask. Now I need to fix the site template so we can compare....
