Annie Leibovitz DVD
G'day all
Just thought I would share this with you all.
I just saw a great DVD on Annie and it was great in discussing her process and how she thinks a shot through. The extras were really good in this regard. I found it interesting and certainly took away some things I need to do.
It was called

January Assignment?
What's up with this months assignment? Any ideas? I have been itching to get out and do some more shots. Maybe some self portraits? I took this one last week when I was out on an evening expedition near Leadville. I'm ready for more.

Bodie Chair
Spent three days in Bodie in a workshop that allowed us to enter the buildings. Unlike Bannick or Garnet, the Ca State Parks Dept is very protective of it's ghost towns. It takes a lot to get them to open up for photographers.
Crop Damage As Art
I have been meaning to see if I could get a good angle of this. Someone drove through a farmers field next to my house and left their mark. I would guess one too many Bud long-necks may have been involved.
Also not a pinhole
More help from work - some ice cream was delivered packed with dry ice. Of course I had to take the dry ice home and play with it! This is a fancy empty bottle that somebody had given me, put into a blue plastic bowl along with the dry ice. No doubt you could do some commercial shots just as easily. Dry ice is fun :)
Not a pinhole
A guy at work gave this to me and told me to take some pictures of it. I'm not sure what else to say, except "this is the result". Not my normal thing, but I thought I would try. In case you want to know about technique, its diffused light coming through shades, on a black piece of papered cardboard. In some cases I blocked light further with my body, to avoid specularity.
